OUR MISSION
EMPOWER BRANDS TO BECOME COMMERCIALLY SUSTAINABLE
Resale is becoming an integral part of today’s shopping and environmental landscape.
For too long, the environmental and financial benefits of the resale market have been captured by third parties, leaving brands disconnected from the value they’ve created.
At THE NOLD, we believe that brands should own the entire lifecycle of their products, including resale, to fully achieve their sustainability goals, strengthen brand loyalty, and unlock new revenue streams.
By embracing resale, brands can foster meaningful, long-term relationships with their customers, maintaining control and visibility over what happens after their products leave the shelf. This allows brands to shape a future where consumption is responsible, products are cherished beyond the initial transaction, and every item contributes to a positive environmental impact.
WHY THE NOLD IS SET TO BECOME THE GOLDEN STANDARD OF BRAND-LED RESALE
The giants of the resale market are peer-to-peer, app-first solutions—and for good reason. Users want a single platform to sell, shop, chat, track orders, and claim payouts. Decentralised white-label websites that require unique profiles and restrict sellers to just one brand lack the scalability for long-term success.
THE NOLD is the only global SaaS solution offering a centralised marketplace where users can list and buy from any brand. At the same time, brands can have their own customised resale hubs, tailored to their specific needs. These brand hubs remain part of a unified ecosystem, allowing users to access all NOLD-powered brand hubs and the central marketplace with a single login.
EXPLORE TECHNOLOGY
We understand that every brand has a unique vision for embracing circularity and how this journey will evolve over time. THE NOLD provides the most flexible software, enabling brands to start monetizing and owning the positive impact of resale. Whether through solutions that require zero integration or launching a fully customised, brand-owned resale hub, we offer the tools to support brands at any stage of their circularity journey.
Governments worldwide are tightening environmental regulations, mandating that companies take accountability for their environmental impacts. To meet these requirements, one of the most promising strategies is entering the resale market. This approach supports product reuse and lifecycle extension, effectively reducing the demand for raw materials and minimising waste production.
Key Environmental Regulations Facing Brands
- Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR): Requires brands to take responsibility for the entire lifecycle of their products, including end-of-life disposal, encouraging sustainable design and recycling practices.
- Right to Repair Laws: Legislation in various regions mandates that brands allow consumers and third parties to repair products, reducing waste and extending product lifespans.
- Single-Use Plastic Bans: Many regions are restricting or banning single-use plastics, pushing brands to adopt sustainable packaging alternatives.
- Carbon Emission Reduction Targets: Regulations are setting strict emission limits, compelling companies to reduce their carbon footprints through operational changes or carbon offsetting.
- Waste Reduction Mandates: Stricter mandates require brands to minimise waste generation, focusing on recycling and reuse rather than disposal.
- Greenwashing Regulations: Regulatory bodies are cracking down on misleading sustainability claims, demanding transparency and accountability from brands regarding their environmental practices.
- Product Take-back Programs: Some regulations require brands to establish programs that allow consumers to return products for recycling or resale, reinforcing circularity.
- Mandatory Recycling Rates: In some regions, companies must meet specific recycling quotas, pressuring brands to facilitate material recovery from end-of-life products.
THE NOLD: Empowering Brands in the Resale Market
THE NOLD exists to support brands navigate the resale market in the smartest, safest, and most adaptable way possible. Our platform enables brands to own the resale lifecycle, driving sustainability goals while increasing customer loyalty and creating new revenue streams.
The resale market is experiencing explosive growth, projected to expand five times faster than the broader retail sector, reaching an estimated $350 billion globally by 2027. This surge is primarily fueled by a younger, eco-conscious consumer base, with 70% of Gen Z shoppers showing a clear preference for buying secondhand. Additionally, resale has proven to be resilient even in economic downturns, as consumers increasingly seek both value and sustainability in their purchases. By offering resale options, brands can tap into this rapidly growing market, boosting revenue, fostering customer loyalty, and meeting sustainability expectations—making resale an essential part of every brand’s future strategy.
